Ok I am trying to no upgrade a second idential site and I have ran into the same problem again. I also do not see that temp archive directory you refered to in Joomla root. I also checked the Public_html to make sure of settings set to 777.

You sure you told me everything I need to check for? Did you have to change anyting else I do not understand when you had access?

Here are the steps i did:
- deleted public_html/archive_tmp
- chmod 777 upon public_html
- run Joomla.Start.php with ftp mode

Thanks ok here is what I did not know. While I checked through CPanel that the Public_html was set to 777 I did not know that chmod it would so something diffrent.

It worked but not sure why its diffrent?
