Not a complaint, just a comment.
JoomlaStart won't work when the hosts don't tolerate "fopen(url)". I got this error message:

Dreamhost claims the Curl library is more secure than allowing fopen. I could re-compile php to tolerate fopen, but then I'm without support.
It would be great if JoomlaStart could make provisions for using Curl, when fopen() isn't supported.
