Backups don't show in View Backups 2 Years, 6 Months ago
|
|

I left all the default settings intact in the configuration then I generated a backup and received a message that the backup have been completed succesfuly. I looked in the directory where it was suppose to be in FTP mode and the zip file is where it is supposed to be. I openned the zip file and everything seems to be OK. I tried two more times and the results were the same.
But, there is no list of any backup in the View Backups.
I reinstalled the component on another test site and used IE instead of Firefox and I still have the same problem.
Does anyone has an idea of what is going wrong ?

Hi there! Could you copy/paste the results you get after you generate the backup please! Also please check that you have support for the 'zip' server utility, usually located here /usr/bin/zip or /usr/local/bin/zip, you might not have that utility on the server!
Let me know, Ovidiu

Here is a copy/paste of the result as you asked:
Archive Name backup_2006-06-17_07-27_www_pmckz_com-sql-drop.zip
Number of Files 4127
Size of Original File 23.89 MB
Size of Archive 15.75 MB
Database Backup Settings Backup Completed ( 99.16 KB )
Would you prefer the zip file?
With my provider, I don't have access to the user/bin folder but I am sure that I have the zip utility is active. I decompress often and it works. Also, JoomlaCloner do compress the backups.
I forgot to tell you that I use JoomlaCloner with a 1.0.9 french version of Joomla!. I will try it with an older english version of Joomla!, just in case.

Ok, the backup gets generated corectly, and i presume as you told it's present on server!
It might be a problem from directory listing, what values do you have for open_basedir in your php.ini ?
If you want, please open a support ticket and send me your Joomla admin backend login to check it out!

I tried JoomlaCloner with 1.0.8 english version of Joomla! and I still have the same problem. The backup has been created and saved where it was suppose to. I have been able to decompress the backup file.
I will try it on another provider.

Ok, found the problem, you needed to put the full path in place as specified for the backup path, meaning not just backup/ but the full path with /home/.../backups
All working now!Ovidiu
