and I am creeping closer to successfully cloning a website on my new host.

I've successfully used your cloner on my sites for some time now, and I love it! Thanks for a great component.

I sorted out the permission problems (I had them set too high, actually) and now I've run in to a new problem.

It will go through the file cloning process and say that it's been successful (although it never shows the individual file progress) and then will be "unable to read" the database.

It never actually copies any of the the files either, though.

I've checked everything I can check and I have tickets with support, which is the only reason I've gotten this far....

I've browsed the forums and faq's and if you've addressed this problem before I can't find it.

The php info seems to show that everything is ok....

Have you check the ftp restore path, it could be incorrect! If so, try also and make a restore by using the "Install files directly" option instead of ftp and see how that goes!

Second, make sure the new location comply with the requirements posted here http://www.joomlaplug.com/Tools/JoomlaCloner/JoomlaCloner_Requirements.html

This is just so bizarre...

I had a typo in the user name for the ftp and the files copies...

Or at least some of them did....

I don't know...

Just an update:

I was able to ftp in and synchronize the files and that seems to have finished loading the files.

I can't login as the admin but I remember seeing some posts about that so will look through the Forum.

Creeping ever closer to having a working site (smile).
