Can't open Joomla.Cloner.php for some reason 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hello,

I have created a backup, cloned the backup to the new site/domain.

It seems the next step is to open the file Joomla.Cloner.php on the new domain and continue the process.

For some reason, my computer doesn't know how to open it, like it is an unrecognized file type. I have opened tons of .php files with no problems ever. I have even forced it to open with FireFox and IE. Both results are the same.

It either wants me to save the file somewhere or define the program to open it with.

Any ideas?

Thanks

What kind of server are you running on your computer? have you checked the file permissions, are they the same as the rest?

Hello,

It is a Linux Server.

File Permissions on Joomla.Cloner.php are 644.

Same for the other files.

Thanks

Just to be sure and avoid any confusion, the Joomla.Cloner.php script needs to be put in your LAMP(Linux Apache Mysql PHP) server under a directory of your choice, so you would need to open it by using a url address like http://localhost/Joomla.Cloner.php , the restore script is a web application which needs apache and php to run

If you still have issues, please open a support ticket and if possible send us some location details to your local web server to see if we can help

As we checked, the issue seems to be caused by a missconfiguration in the server area which sees files with big letter caps as small caps, example Joomla.Cloner.php is seen as joomla.cloner.php which on a linux filesystem server does not exist

Fixing that or renaming the restore script to lower caps will fix the issue!
