Re:Can't find backup directory 2 Years, 5 Months ago

Ok, through a lot of trial and error I finally found a path that worked... In my case it was:
/var/www/html/web01201/phptmp/
I made a back up but ended up with a 16Mb .zip file which I cannot open due to "Error in Packed File../path"
During the backup I also got the message from JoomlaCloner that:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16641187 bytes) in /var/www/html/web01201/html/joomla/administrator/includes/pcl/pclzip.lib.php on line 2379
I need to do some housekeeping as I only have 80Mb of storage space left.. but this should be enough for a dump.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, Thomas

It should be there, try to look for SCRIPT_FILENAME ! If you still have no luck contact your host regarding your site full path!

Well I did find a path that worked.. see last post. It may be a silly direcroy to store the back up in but at least it works.
I also increased the
php_value memory_limit 32M
php_flag max_execution_time 3600
as you suggested. I have tried with and without the "Backup using Server Functions" selected but STILL I get the following problem.
1. The function in Joonla just sits and spins and spins without ever completing...
2. It does create a large zip file in the phptmp directory that I chose in the configeration pane so this path seems to work.
3. The backup is still a currupted zip file.. (will not open)
What could be happening?

Well from this ". The function in Joonla just sits and spins and spins without ever completing..." i presume you are stopping the process, depending on your site size, it takes longer if the php archive mode is used!
If you would have zip utility on the server enabled you could generate the backups faster!
Maybe send me your Joomla admin details to take a look, please use our ticket system for this!

No, I do am not stopping the "spining" but after 5 hours (!) I had to go home... At some point during this time I noticed that the corrupted zip file had turned up in my backup file.
I tried this with and without the server side zip activated and without. Same result.
Thanks, Thomas
