jcron & feedgator 2 Years ago
Hi,

I'm trying to configure jcron to update rss feeds using feedgator. I'm using IPOWER host and these settings:

Jcron accepted the settings, but it doesn't appear to be working. Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you

Hi there! First of all, have you enabled the JCron code in the Configuration area?

Second, could you copy/paste the full command you have there in the "Command to run" field !

yes i have it enabled. here is the run command: http://www.mysite.com/administrator/components/com_feedgator/cron.feedgator.php

The task type is set to web address.

I just noticed the time had changed on the manage cron job tab, but I didnt have the logs on. I just turned on the logs. Perhaps there is an issue with the cron script. Where do I find the logs to see if I can locate the problem?

Thank you again

here's the cron script (if that helps?)
Code:

define( '_VALID_MOS' , true ); require_once('../../../configuration.php'); include_once( $mosConfig_absolute_path . '/globals.php'); require_once( $mosConfig_absolute_path . '/includes/joomla.php'); require_once( $mosConfig_absolute_path . '/includes/database.php'); $database = new database( $mosConfig_host, $mosConfig_user, $mosConfig_password, $mosConfig_db, $mosConfig_dbprefix ); $task = 'cron'; require_once( $mosConfig_absolute_path . '/administrator/components/com_feedgator/class.feedgator.php'); require_once( $mosConfig_absolute_path . '/administrator/components/com_feedgator/functions.feedgator.php'); require_once( $mosConfig_absolute_path . '/administrator/components/com_feedgator/admin.feedgator.php'); ?>

The cron logs after you enable them, are usually stored in the cron edit area, under "last run log text"! Also on this page you see http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/mikevid/jcron.jpg you also need to click the 'Enable logs' checkbox to get them stored for that particular cron!

Okay here's what I got. I double checked to make sure I enabled the log box and used web address (from dropdown) http://www.mysite.com/administrator/components/com_feedgator/cron.feedgator.php

I saved the settings at 15:49 then checked back later, and it ran at 15:56 (I set it for 5 mins)

I don't see anything in the Last Run Log Text: box.

Do you have any other ideas how I could troubleshoot?

Thank you.
