mysql problem 3 Months ago
Hello I have a problem.
When I try to clone my backup to another site I get the following error:
---------------------------------------
JoomlaCloner Automatic Restore!

The database details provided are incorrect and/or empty. Unable to connect to mysql server
-----------------------------------------

However my Webhost lunarpages.com says thatmy mysql settings are correct. Is there maybee another way of cloning that could work for me?

Thanks
Chris

Usually if you get that message it means that something is wrong with the mysql user and pass or with the mysql server address, i suggest you recheck them again and make sure there are not empty characters in any of them!

If you like, you can skip the database import by unchecking that option, however I still think something is wrong in the provided mysql details as the script uses the standard mysql_connect() function to connect to that mysql server!

Re:mysql problem 3 Months ago
my host said:
"
The plugin being used for this restore may not function as the permissions needed may be if your account was on a dedicated server.
"
would that be possible as well?

maybee I could open a suport ticket or skype chat so we could resolve that. Would that be possible?

Regards,
Chris

Here is what i suggest:

- try and install Joomla(just a simple default install by uploading the core package files ) on your new host and see if you can pass the mysql details screen, if you do then open a support ticket and send us your site ftp+mysql details to check the issue with the restore script
- however, if you are still having issues connecting to the mysql server you should ask your hosting support to provide you with some working details

Hope it helps! Ovidiu
