X-cloner gives 500 error message 3 Months ago

Hi,
I am on joomla 1.5.6 with legacy enabled (needed for AEC).
XCloner installed great, but when I click on it in the component menu I get 500 server error message.
Here is the server error log that is generated when I clik on the component:

To fix this, try and apply 755 permissions upon the administrator/components/com_xcloner/ directory and all the files inside it

OK. I just checked on thos files and you're right, for some reason they're not 755 on this site.
I'll go make the change and let you know what happens.
Edited to update:
Everything is now on 755. No idea how it all got on 644 to start with.
Still I get a server error anyway.
So I uninstalled and reinstalled. Guess what? It's all back on 644!!!
Any clue what I am doing wrong here? I have XCloner installed on another site with 1.5.6 and it's working just great.

The issue is either from your hosting provider or the Joomla system relating to the default created files permissions
You should check with your hosting support to fix this issue if your Joomla core does not set any default permissions on install

Can't be my hosting provider because the other 1.5.6 site that has XCloner working great is on the same server in the same account.
They are both in legacy mode, so that's not it either.
The main difference between the two sites is that one (the one that does not work) has JCALPlus with the latest patch and AEC and the other one does not. Could that be what makes the difference?
Update:
After the reinstall that sent everything back to 644, I just rechanged everything to 755. Still not working.

You can open a support ticket and send us your Joomla admin details and url to check the issue
