Hi Everyone,

I am Alex and newbie in using Joomla Web Developer.
I am facing a problem in setting APACHE on XAMPP Control Panel.

I had installed this XAMPP Control Panel and can not starting the Apache menu. Only MySql can start.

Please can someone help me what is the problem and how to solve it
I can not run the web if Apache is not running.

HI Alex and welcome to the forums! Usually Apache won't start if port 80 is bussy, you need to check if other applications are using that port(hint: Skype?) stop them and then try to start Apache

Thanks for the adv, its working now. Skype is the problem

Btw I need more adv....
If I want to create a new website project, should i need to install again the joomla stable file?
If yes, how about my previous data of project? It will be deleted?

Hi there! Yes, usually creating a new project means indeed installing Joomla in a directory on your server location different from your previous project, however if you have no use for that previous project you could reinstall it there overwriting that project data!

Hi,

I am new to Joomla and I have the same problem. Skype is not running on port 80 but my Apache is still not starting in XAMPP. I have a message saying the port is busy, so I just uninstalled Skype. But I don't know how to check to see if I'm running something else on the port. I don't think that I am. Any advice? Thank you!

The Apache service named reported the following error:

What is the operating system you are using? If you open http://localhost in your browser do you get some output?
