I am somewhat a beginner and having problems getting all the ftp paths correct.
On the installer page there is ftp server, which would read something like ftp://www.mydomain.com, correct?
And the ftp path would be the same if I'm installing to root directory?

Hi there! The ftp server would be ftp.mydomain.com or just mydomain.com, without http:// in front!
Second, you need to login through a ftp client and check the ftp correct path to your location, that will look like this public_html/mydir or httpdocs/mydir

looks like i got the paths correct, but something about the changelog file.
I don't see a file called changelog in that directory.
Here's the message:

I think the ftp path that you are using is incorrect, try to re-check it again! If you still don't succeed, try using the direct mode restore instead of ftp!

Right, the ftp path should have been just /mydomain.org
