The script just sits there and with no debug info, I can't tell you much more than that. I was going to write something similar but haven't had time to complete it. The script I was going to create only set the dir permissions after decompressing it.

Figured it out. The installer Joomla.Start.php doesn't work with Safari. I used Camino and everything worked great. If I get time, I might be able to look into this unless you have a fix on the way.

k, i will check it out, i think when clicked, the submit button didn't start the form processing?

Yup, i found the problem and fixed it! It works now with all browsers!
