You will need to set allow_url_fopen to Yes in your site php.ini config, you can ask your hosting support to do that!

Hi,
I'm a newbie who downloaded and installed the Joomlastart tool. I chose "install the files directly" and noticed that the zip file 1.5.10 is on the server. But it needs to be unzipped to be fully installed. How do you do that to update the previous install?

JoomlaStart will automatically unzip that file for you, however for overwriting files i suggest you use the ftp mode!

Re:Upgrading with Joomlastart 10 Months ago
Hi there,

This is my first time using this plugin. I have a client with a live site and it is using a very old version (1.0) of Joomla! Well I found this on the Joomla site and decided to give it a shot.

Uploaded the two files (Joomla.Start.php & ver.txt) to the root. Navigated to the Joomla.Start.php and entered all of my information including the FTP info. Clicked submit and waited... now I am at a page that just says -

JoomlaPlug Automatic Installer!
Install Joomla software on the fly!!!

Now I do see that the URL in my browser has all of the config information in it. Clicking enter on the URL just returns me to this page. I checked the ftp and see that it has transferred Joomla_1.5.3-Stable-Full_Package.zip to it.

So, what now???

Any and all help is greatly appreciate!!!

Thanks!!

Hi there! Have you tried checking the other option called "Install files directly"?
