Backup root directory files 1 Year ago
I know I asked for this in a previous post but since this is the 'Suggestions' forum I thought it best to make a note of my suggestion/request in hope that it will be added to the next update.

OK - easy one really - I have my gallery2 data held in a non direct web accessible area, i.e. its stored in /home/myname/gallerydata and not in the public_html folder. Now I don't want Cloner to back up all files so it will need to allow me to select what folders to include and if it is to include all sub-folders/files as well as for me it will only be one directory I want included in the backup. Now obviously it will need to be able to restore also

Cheers

Greg

Yup, we already have this feature on the list, and we will include it in the future versions of JoomlaCloner!

Thanks for the input! Ovidiu

Re:Backup root directory files 11 Months, 1 Week ago
Hi

Was wondering if any progress on this was being made - really need this for a new site I am about to make live in the next week or two. While I have other options it would be far easier if I can do it all with JoomlaCloner

Thanks

The new component is still in beta, but if you like to test it, please open a support ticket and send me your site ftp details and i will install it! Ovidiu

I'd prefer the backup and JoomlaCloner.php files be in the /home/myname/ folder, instead of the current (sorta) publicly accessible locations.

You can put the files wherever you like, however you need to be able to access Joomla.Cloner.php in your browser in order to make the restore! Second, after any restore, we suggest you delete the restore script from the server!
