I did a manual install today which had problems. I thought I'd try the installer, installing over the existing files. The tool listed every file in place:

Files succesfully copied to /var/www/html/joomla on hwcsc.info using FTP
clicking on "Launch Joomla installer!" brings up a 404 page
Do I need to delete everything and start from scratch?
