new trial - cloning problems 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Just downloaded your trial version and having couple of minor issues i'm sure.

need to clone my current live site www.canza.cz to my sub-domain test site at canza.greatsouthernwines.com

I have managed to backup into a tar no probs.

When i clone across, files transfer to the backup directory i select but the link points to http://canza.greatsouthernwines.com//backup and therefore the restore fails.

also, i need to exclude D4J licensing data so as not to over write my the development site with live info and vis-versa. Is it possible to create permanent profile for the backup i.e. permanent excludes so as not to continue repeating the selects? c

cheers

Hi there! First of all you should know that the JoomlaCloner trial restoring process is limited to the host you generated the trial for, so cloning to that subdomain will only work in the full version of JoomlaCloner!

Second, please check here our restoring FAQ http://www.joomlaplug.com/component/option,com_simplefaq/Itemid,56/task,display/catid,26/ and how this should go! You need to copy the backup and restore script we provide inside your restore location and launch for example http://canza.greatsouthernwines.com/Joomla.Cloner.php to start the restore process!

Not sure how D4J licensing licensing works, however with JoomlaCloner you are able to exclude certain files from that component directory, or exclude the whole component from the generated backup!

Let me know if you have further questions! Ovidiu
