My use of the JoomlaDesktop Installer failed due to a pop-up window error at the "Installer Actions" page with the following text:
"An error was encountered while setting permissions on the FTP server. The server returned the following response: An error was encountered while uploading files to the FTP server. Retry?"
I retried and retried, and now I have no website where before I merely had a broken installation.
It appears there is an issue with setting permissions, as I have a shared hosting account I will not have access to change certain permissions - though the important ones should already be setup as I had previously completed an install on this server (though my install had back-end administrator issues, which led me to use your installer). Is there a way to skip this step.
Note: I am uploading to a Windows based shared hosting account.
Note 2: I have already opened a support ticket for this issue. Not sure which method is best for support issues.

(I RESOLVED THIS ISSUE BY COMPLETELY REMOVING MY PREVIOUS INSTALLATION ATTEMPTS AND STARTING FRESH WITH JOOMLADESKTOP INSTALLER) - this product rocks!

Post edited by: Jmaxpro, at: 2007/07/10 09:52
