You need to update the trial version of the restore script with the updated one from inside the full JoomlaCloner package you got from our site! You will find the restore script inside the component archive, in directory restore/

yep. I done this already. Didn't make any difference. I had to change the DNS to point my domain to the new IP address. - This is the only way it will work. It just means now I have no 'live' site online.
I now have a new problem and the install script tells me that my mysql logon details are wrong. But I know they are OK. I can't now restore my database. ANy suggestions?
thanks

Usually an error related to mysql is generated from the fact that something is wrong in the mysql details, you need to recheck the mysql server address and make sure you assigned the mysql user to your database!
Again, about ioncube, the full package of JoomlaCloner does not require ioncube, so if you still get that message means that you didn't update the restore script properly!
Please open a support ticket if you like and send me there the site ftp details and also the mysql manager details to check the mysql connection details

After we checked, the mysql details you were using were not created in your site backend, and from that the mysql errors! Please check the site, all should be up and working now!

thanks.
If you could see those mysql details were not there how could you get the data? - magic!
Did you make any other changes? - I notice configuration.php was writable.- I've changed in back.
Also there is a strange character before the £ sign on the main page. what has casued this? I can remove it manually but is this something I need to be aware of for future cloning?
Also my backup path is no longer valid? should the cloned site have modified this automatically? - I guess not.
Many Thanks
