jcron responds when homepage is hit? 10 Months, 1 Week ago

i'm wondering why the jcron only responds when the frontpage is accessed.
I'm trying to setup a autoresponder with acajoom and upon visitor signup, the visitor is supposed to get the autoresponse in 1 minute according to the jcron. But after several minutes pass visitor never receives autoresponse until they revisit homepage. Is there any way of changing this?
thanks

Post edited by: sdathletics, at: 2007/09/16 11:09

Unfortunately JCron cron process depends on the visitors accessing the frontpage for the simply reason it can't work any way, the jobs are executed when the frontpage index.php is being started!
If you need a more specific cron manager, i would advise you get one installed on your server or ask your host to allow you to it, that would be more useful to you!

yeah well I have cpanel, and I know how to use cron taks there but it keeps creating files when cron task is used and when you got the cron task launching every minute that's a lot of files being created on the server.
Thanks anyways

I think the files it creates are the cron logs, have you tried setting up an email address from the cron manager so the logs get sent there?
