upgrading site using JoomlaStart 5 Years, 11 Months ago
I have used JoomlaStart successfuly to do a new installation on a site, but I would now like to upgrade a site.

Do I go for a full installation again, just allowing it to overwite the existing installation? or is there a way of just getting the upgrade to install?

Giles

Many thanks for the system, it saves hours in installing a new site.

Hi there! For Joomla versions 1.0.x doing an upgrade is the same as doing a normal Joomla install, except that you preserve your database and config file!

In the package menu, you have there a link that will show you Upgrade from your version 1.0.x to 1.0.9 latest!

Use that, it should work! Also i suggest you use the ftp mode for doing the restore so you keep the files permissins intact!
