Admin logs off during backup 6 Months, 4 Weeks ago
This program "seemed" like a great solution but I have been unsuccessful backing up my joomla site. Every attempt I make to back up/clone.... Joomla logs me out sometime after 50%. Changing the admin session in my control panel makes no difference.

It times out at different percentages each time. I do get a backup.zip file created but they do not install and it's obvious they are incomplete.

I could not find a solution here and it looks like I'll have to use a different software. At least I could try this out so that I did not find this problem out too late.

If someone has a solution, it would be great to hear it.

Doug

I suggest you change the "Backup type" to TAR and also uncheck both Active checkboxes in your JoomlaCloner Config!

Hope it helps! Ovidiu

Thanks for the response.

I changed the things you suggested. It actually timed out earlier.

I then uninstalled JoomlaCloner and reinstalled it again.

This time I got a blank white screen. Never the less, I tried to do the automated backup. I got this error message:

Moving source file /home/raughts/public_html/welcome/administrator/components/com_cloner/restore/Joomla.Cloner.php
Warning: ftp_put() [function.ftp-put]: Rename/move failure: No such file or directory in /home/raughts/public_html/welcome/administrator/components/com_cloner/cloner.functions.php on line 483
FTP upload has failed for file ftp.theraughts.com/testsite/Joomla.Cloner.php ! Stopping ....

The program is generating a .tar file but no Joomla.Cloner.php file. Each time I try, the .tar file is a different size so I know it is not fully completing the backup process.

I'll give it one last try if you have any suggestions.

Thanks,
Doug

So i presume you can generate a backup properly but you can't move it for restore?

What i suggest in your case is to simply download the backup archive through a ftp client and then move it manually to the restore location along with our restore script as specified in the Restore FAQ here http://www.joomlaplug.com/component/option,com_simplefaq/Itemid,56/task,display/catid,26/
