error during restore process 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
|

|
I am working on testing the free trial, however when I try to do a restore, I receive the following error:
Warning: fopen(/home/saguedu/public_html/home2/administrator/backups/perm.txt): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/saguedu/public_html/home2/Joomla.Cloner.php on line 1021
Could not set permissions! Permissions file /home/saguedu/public_html/home2/administrator/backups/perm.txt not found!
Help?

Hi there! You need to check if your ftp restore points to the correct location! I also suggest to try the "Install files directly" and see if you still get the same error!
If so, then the backup might be incomplete, for this you need to check if the restore backup archive has the same size as on the original host, make sure you make both the download and upload from the original host through a ftp client!
I also suggest you recreate the backup archive using "Manual backup" to Yes and both "Active" checkboxes unchecked in your original site JoomlaCloner Config and see that helps!
Let me know if you have further issues! Ovidiu

I tried the install files directly before, as my ftp settings were not working. It didn't help.
Also, when I did the manual backup as you suggested, every step gave me an error message saying: Unable to open temporary file '/home/saguedu/public_html/home/administrator/backupspclzip-47ab19b7afc93.tmp' in binary write mode [code -2]
The backup file after the manual backup was not complete, as it was a very small size. Any other suggestions? I really like the concept of this product, but I hesitate to buy it without having a successful working trial first.

You need to clear the administrator/backups folder of all files present there(except index.html file), then try again! I also suggest to set the Backup type to TAR to avoid further issues in your JoomlaCloner Config!
As you suspected, the backup is still incomplete, so doing the cleaning specified above should help!

Ok, I cleared out those files, and the backup seemed to run without a hitch. However, when I try to restore, I receive the same error as before, that the permissions file (perm.txt) could not be found.

Do you have open_basedir variable setup to any value on your restore host? It could be one of the reasons of why the files won't extract if the backup is ok and you used the correct ftp path or "Install files directly" option!
If you like, open a support ticket and send me your restore location ftp+mysql details to have a look! Ovidiu
