Hi all

I try desesperatly to create a demo website as I explain in the Joomla forum....

People of forum give me a unique solution for do that and consist to install 2 small SH script:

I have try many time to install this 2 script and by following step by step all explanation...but I continue to not undestand how it work. In fact I bloque my self especially at the point 6 and 7 where is juste write "Run autoSiteDUMP.sh and Setup a crontab". I never undestand where and how I must "run" this script....From where ? Using witch programm ? FTP ? Other ? I have test many things without success...If this script must be run in command line I dont know how I can do...I have no practice...

Can your script help me for do something ?? Any help much appreciate....Is very bad Is not possible to find a Joomla component ready to work for make a demo website...

Hi there! I presume you are at the last step

"Setup a crontab to run autoSiteRESTORE.sh at a timeframe that suits you."

I presume you installed the JCron scheduler, to setup a command, you need to select from the Command type drop down menu the SSH option, next as Command to run option i suggest you use this command

"bash /home/.../path_to/autoSiteRESTORE.sh"

and replace in the above with the correct full path to the autoSiteRESTORE.sh script

After that setup the time you would like to make it run, and see how it goes! As a note, your hosting provider needs to facilitate the use of exec() function in order to be able to run the above command, else you will need to use a server based cron manager!

In fact am always at the point 6 "Run autoSiteDUMP.sh"....because I dont undestand what mean "run"...and from where and how I must "run" this file... If for example I try to get access from the web to www.site.com/autoSiteDUMP.sh this for sure dont work... By FTP I dont see and dont thinks is possible to run a file...and in command line I dont know how I can do...

For you what mean "run" this file ? Any idea ?

You will need to read some basic info on what is ssh and what are ssh commands, i suggest you start from here http://www.sshcmds.com/

thanks for suggestion...I have allready try to look into some shell website for try learn... The problem are always the same... Command line described for example in the website you tell me don't speak about "run a file"....but only to create a new...

Do you know the command ? I have try allready many like "run" "load" "sh"...etc...without success...

The command to run an sh file is usually "bash"
