Error : PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

What should I do?

I suggest you either use our other utility called JoomlaDesktop http://www.joomlaplug.com/Tools/JoomlaStart/JoomlaDesktop_Joomla_Installer.html or simply upload the Joomla package archive manually in the same dir as Joomla.Start.php and select it from the second drop down list!

I have the same problem and uploading Joomla package archive to server didn't solve it, now I get new error: "Could not continue, unable to read the archive file!"

Did you upload th Joomla archive in the same dir as Joomla.Start.php file? If so, you need to select that from the second drop down box! Ovidiu

Yes I did upload archive in same folder as Joomla.start.php and picked it from second list. I did procedure correctly. What is weird is that Joomla archive file has become corrupted - it "shrinked" after starting Joomla.Start.php to around 200KB, and yes, I have checked it was OK prior to I started installation (actually I did this two times to be sure).

I have solved problem using manual upload in appropriate folder and choosing option "direct installation". Only if I use FTP installation I get error previously stated. Now life will be much easier
