Can there be typographic mistakes in the routines? - Concerning the characters: I am absolutely sure I have set it to utf8. What else could I try to get the right characters?

You could try getting a non mysqldump backup of the database on the original site, so what you should do is this:

1. go in the original site JoomlaCloner Config and uncheck the mysqldump "Active" checkbox
2. recreate the database backup and also check "ADD drop syntax" option from the Database options tab
3. restore that backup with "Character set to the file" set to utf8 one time and if it doesn't work try the default No value option

Hope it helps!

Hi Ovidiu,

it works for the characters with set to default (utf8 doesn't work). But there is a much bigger problem which costed me a large amount of time, because I didn't relate it to XCloner until today. I am going to open a new thread for it.

Xcloner works well !!! 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I have to make clear:

The Xcloner Component is ok and works well.

Actually the reason for the problem was much more simple: I am still quite new with Joomla but as far as I can say in Joomla 1.5 you have two ways to deal with a title in a list. You can set a checkbox active or just click on a title. Not so in Fireboard 1.04. If you just click on a category to create a subcategory you even delete all categories when you try to save. You absolutely have to set the ckeckbox in front of the category active to create a subcategory. This is very different from the normal Joomla way but isn't said anywhere.

Sorry for the blame, Ovidiu.

Well i don't mind, however if you think this is a Joomla bug better report it to the Joomla bug team to fix it in the future issues!

Cheers! Ovidiu
