ok, I have uploaded my backup again to the new hosting account.

and ive uploaded the joomla.cloner.php file.

the install directory & url are filled in, mysql details are correct.

I dont have any options available in the 'choose local clone archive?

I have selected 'install files directly'

click submit and receive the following error...

Could not continue, unable to read the clone backup file

On the restore screen there is a drop down box called "Choose clone archive to install:", you need to select from there the archive to install, it needs to be in the same directory as the restore script!

Sorry Im getting confused.

I do have the dropdown box on the page, but there is nothing in it.

is the archive the zip folder of my site? I have already uploaded the backup of my site.

thanks for all your help so far.

If you generated the backup with JoomlaCloner as it's a zip archive, then you need to use the JoomlaCloner restore script and not the XCloner one as that only recognizes TAR archives

I used joomlacloner to generate my backup.

I have unzipped this and uploaded the contents to my new hosting account.

I have now visited the joomla.cloner.php file but there is nothing in the drop down box.

Have I missed something out? am I right to upload the unzipped website?
