For some reason, I am getting an error when I launch joomlastart

Here is the error:

Error : PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

This is being doe on a localhost running on latest XAMPP

I would advise to manually upload the Joomla package archive in the same dir as the Joomla.Cloner.php script, then select it from the second drop down box for restore

OK, it works fine now.

Howber, I am confused as to if I need to re-run teh Joomla installer after using JoomlaStart.

Here is what I get:

When I clicked the Launch Joomla installer, it takes me to the JoomlaPack installation which is what I normally use to restore my site after I do a backup.

My question is, should I be running the installer again? If so, why does the installer want to restore the database from an old backup? I have done extensive updates to my site since the last backup, I am concerned that I may lose all the new contents if I proceed with the installer.

If I do not need to use the installer, then how do I get my site to be updated? I am not noticing the Joomla version number change from v1.5.2 to 1.5.6 as it should in the backend.

Please advice.

Hi there! Most probably that means you did not clear your restore location before installation, do that, you should get the default Joomla installer

JoomlaStart is only a tool for extracting the archive files, you need to run the Joomla restore to finish the rest of the process, like database import and configuration update
