Re:Manual restore failing 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
Well, I'm still struggling with this. As a fix, I've tried the server-side decompress, but still no joy:

"Connected to localhost, for user <username>, starting transfer...
Current directory is now: /httpdocs Files transfer finished!
Permissions restored to their initial value...

Files succesfully copied to httpdocs/ on localhost using FTP

Warning: fopen(/var/www/vhosts/<domain>/httpdocs//configuration.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/vhosts/<domain>/httpdocs/Joomla.Cloner.php on line 1461
Unable to write to configuration file /var/www/vhosts/<domain>/httpdocs//configuration.php... Aborting..."

I see a similar problem here, but I don't yet have a configuration.php file on the server, so I can't change its permissions...

Any ideas for both this and the previous problem?

From what it seems the backup you have there might be either corrupt or incomplete, is the size the same as on the original site?

Also, I suggest you use a ftp client to make the transfer between hosts, it might be more reliable

Anyway, if you still have issues, better open a support ticket to help you further, we will need your original site Joomla admin details and the ftp+mysql details to the restore location

Re:Manual restore failing 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
I wasn't able to get the automated backup/restore to work, hence the manual route...

I have used an ftp client to both download and upload the backup file, and it is valid - I have decompressed it locally to check.

Update: I just tried this again with the 'user server unzip' option enabled, and the files decompressed successfully.

However, the database restore then fails with:

"Unable to read the database backup file /var/www/vhosts/<domain>/httpdocs//administrator/backups/database-sql.sql , database was not imported!"

It looks like it's looking for the wrong file name..?

Update 2: Nope, the restore didn't work - the Joomla.Cloner.php page says it did (before the database restore fail), but the server only has a couple of restored folders.

Do you have enough disk space available on the site? Also, try leaving the "restore by using server utilities" option unchecked and see how that goes
