Ovidui,
I went back over a month into by backups when my hosting provider told me I was first hacked.


When I try to log into the front end of this month old backup I get the error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: stripos() in /home/content/t/i/t/tittiger1/html/truthtribune/libraries/joomla/environment/uri.php on line 675


I have done every thing right and yet I have lost over a years of my effort over 3 sites by depending upon XCloner to save me.

If you remember I suggested to you months ago to offer hosting to people where YOU would take responsibility for security. I think that what has happened to me is proof that this kind of service is sorely needed.

Why does it take disasters like this to get peoples attention?

If you like, you can open a support ticket and send us your restore location ftp details to check the error you are having! Again, upgrading Joomla to the latest version would most probably fix the issue

I did patch it to v1.5.7 immediately but I still get that error.


What tools are out there that would allow me to tell if someone has changed any of the Joomla files? How do other people handle this issue?

The stripos() function is a php core function, to fix that error you will need to ask your hosting support to enable it, more info here http://www.php.net/stripos

I thought that it was a corrupt patch as it only happens after I apply the v 1.5.5 to v 1.5.7 patch. Thanks my head in spinnning from all of this.
