GoDaddy Scripts 2 Years ago
Is there a reason that JCron strips the "(portion)" of the GoDaddy script when attempting to save it.

GoDaddy creates a script like this below. I copy and pasted it into JCron.

/web/cgi-bin/php5 "$HOME/html/cron/config.php"

once that part of the script is removed I get the error
"A cron task was failed, godaddy script crashed when trying to run it".

Thoughts?

Should I be switching the Godaddy $Home to my absolute joomla hosting path?

I'm working through this will trial and error but wondering if anyone has had any success before.

Thanks
Tim

Most probably it would be because of the "$HOME" part of the crontask which is seen as a php variable, so yes, try and replace that with the actual server path; we will try to address that in our next version

Still not having luck...

I have created four different cron scripts hoping to hit the jackpot:

/home/content/13/(numberremoved)/html/cron/cronjob.php
/home/content/13/(numberremoved)/html/cron/cronjob.php
/web/cgi-bin/php5 $HOME/html/cron/cronjob.php
/web/cgi-bin/php5 /home/content/13/5467813/html/cron/cronjob.php

Get the error with all of them:
"A cron task has failed "above lines" crashed when we tried to run it.

??? Hmmm

Mystified... The trickest part is obviously getting the write script command.

Does JCron run independent of the server cron? I ask as Godaddy has a history of Cron probs.

Thanks
Tim

Yes, JCron runs independently of the server cron software, have you tried running this command:

/web/cgi-bin/php5 /home/content/13/(numberremoved)/html/cron/cronjob.php

If that fails, maybe you should try running the url of that cronjob, like http://mysite.com/cron/cronjob.php with fsockopen selected?
