BACKGROUND
I downloaded and installed JCron1.4.2-V-J1.5 and it was a great. However the plug-in did not work for the site template on one of my sites so I wanted to practice the suggested manual insertion. I had to go back to release 1.2 to find something for the <root>/components directory and that release wasn't J1.5 compatible (well it works in Legacy mode but that doesn't really count).

SOLUTION
I took parts of the 1.2 code and parts of the 1.4.2 code, added some tabasco and blended it all in the mixer. Out came an updated script that works with the original manual insertion instruction (at the about tab of JCron).

If anyone wants to install it, install JCron1.4.2-V-J1.5 and then upload the attached script to the <joomla_root>/components/com_jcron directory and chmod it 755 or 777.
